英語の「上に」「下に」

There is an apple on the desk.
机の上にりんごがあります。

Place your ball under the desk.
ボールを机の下に置きなさい。

英語の「前」

The strange man was in front of me at that time.
そのとき知らない男が私の前にいた。

Don't be in front of my car!
車の前にいないで！

英語の「後ろ」

英語は「後ろ」が難しく、英作文で差がつくところです。まずは例文を見てください。

She was behind me.
彼女は私の後ろにいた。

「〜の後ろにいる」は behind を使います。対して back (back of) は「後ろのほう」といったニュアンスがあります。

She sat in the back of the car.
彼女は後部座席に座った。

「斜め」という名詞・形容詞は diagonal で、「斜めに」という副詞は diagonally です。

It was diagonally in front of me.
それは私の斜め前にあった。

The car was diagonally behind me.
車が私の斜め後ろにあった。
